Laura Foti-Liverakos, La Leche League Leader for the Athens North English Group (http://www.llli.org/), certified Childbirth International Doula.

Laura Foti-Liverakos, native New Yorker, now living in Athens, Greece.

She is a certified Childbirth International Doula and a La Leche League Leader for the English speaking community in Athens.

Laura is married to a supportive Greek man and they have four beautiful daughters. Her first daughter was a hospital birth in Long Island, New York. Her second and third daughter were born at Lito with a private Midwife. Her fourth daughter was born at home with a Doctor and a Doula.

Laura studied Social Psychology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed her Bachelor of Arts with honors. Her studies allowed her to have a broad understanding of interpersonal relationships and the needs of people in their social surroundings.

After numerous encounters with women who are feeling isolated and depressed, Laura is now applying her degree to offer support and healing. Through her vast motherhood experiences of facing many challenges herself she realizes the great need for both empathetic and inspirational counseling. It is her vision that through connecting to women in this way they can empower themselves to connect to their inner voice and strength to move forward in whatever way works best for them.

Through her experience as a mother, doula and La Leche League Leader she has gained a vast perspective on mothering, birthing and breastfeeding. Laura advocates the right for women to know and the freedom for women to choose. She offers support for women to dispel their fears through education and information.

Her passion is to empower women so they can best attain support during their pregnancy and labor; being honored in birth, being sustained in breastfeeding and being nurtured as new mothers.

Laura was a doula for her daughter’s homebirth in England and has two grandsons.
